Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for adult volunteers (age 18 and older). The Volunteer Office contacts prospective volunteers as positions become available.
High school students (ages 14 – 17): see our Science Minors youth development program for teen volunteer opportunities.
How to apply
Please fill out and submit the adult volunteer application as instructed below.
- Prospective adult volunteers choose between Guest Facing and Administrative roles.
- Please be sure to complete the entire form.
Please note: background checks will be run on all volunteers.
Step 1: Complete the online adult volunteer application below.
Adults (age 18 and up): Fill out the adult volunteer online application.
Step 2: Commit to your volunteer hours.
Volunteers must commit to a minimum 40 hours per calendar year.
Step 3: Attend a volunteer interview or group audition.
If a position that matches your application becomes available, you will be contacted to attend either an interview (administrative volunteers) or group audition (guest-facing volunteers). Administrative interviews are held depending on Museum need; guest-facing group auditions typically occur every 3 to 4 months and depend on specific volunteer team availability.
