In 2015, we offline commissioned market research (verbal and industry inputs) in order to better understand the current influences, perceptions and attitudes towards education and career growth amongst students with the prevailing unemployment and Skill gap.

The research identified two salient problems:

• Most students did not see relevance to everyday life with the fast growing technological growth.
• Students were not aware of the career opportunities that are available in choosing a Non-It sector related education.

The industry visits scheme challenges these perceptions by allowing students to see the practical context and introducing them to a wide range of career opportunities.
